The user experience designer is a multi-skilled innovator with strong interaction design skills, user research and usability testing expertise, and an affinity for aesthetics. We are looking for a multi-disciplinary team player who can quickly assimilate our users’ needs and take responsibility for critical design decisions regarding how our users interact with our platform. The user experience designer will have a track record of applying common user-centered design practices and tools to solve tough design problems. Experience designing for complex workflows and large dataset visualization is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Determine a product’s mandate, feature set, and business requirements
- Plan and conduct user requirements gathering and analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing
- Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, prototypes, and design specifications
- Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually
- Manage the interaction design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource needs and schedules
- Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture via sketches/mocks, wireframes, and visual design documentation that adheres to business and user-defined requirements
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Expert on user interface standards, and design guidelines.
- Proven ability to apply the methodologies of interaction design to software development.
- Ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into actionable deliverables
- Detail-oriented and highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Self-starter, strong self-management skills as well as ability to work as a contributing member of a multi-discipline team
- Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools
- Previous experience designing enterprise-level software for the financial space is a plus*
