Backstage: Web-first designer/front-end developer

Posted by | July 18, 2012 | Web Professional Jobs Blog

Location: New York, NY

We’re completely overhauling Back Stage magazine. For over a decade, a lot of hard-working people have suffered from a crappy site and utterly ham-fisted digital strategy. We’re going to try to save it with a beautiful site and digital-first approach. Love magazines but deplore their woeful state in the 21st century? Help us turn it around! We killed those stupid subscription cards that fall out of the magazine.
We’re looking for someone with firm opinions about getting well-aliased curves out of Photoshop and handling High DPI graphics artfully in CSS. You should have at least one responsive email template under your belt. A passing familiarity with MVC frameworks and DVCS would be awesome.
This position is going to be extremely important to every contact our customers have with our product, so we’re willing to pay well for the right candidate. 401k with match, good health insurance, and all the witty theater gossip you could ever want.

To apply: Email Absolutely no recruiters or agencies.
