BlipSnips: Designer/Web Developer

BlipSnips, a Boulder-based 2010 TechStars graduate, with $1M in angel funding led by early investors in Facebook and Napster and a former senior Facebook executive, are pivoting to B2B and rolling out first-of-its-kind native mobile apps and a Facebook app that are driving engagement for brands around UGC mobile video. In just two months, over a dozen major brands and agencies have signed up for pilots generating cash for BlipSnips but more work than we can currently support. 
We are actively seeking a Designer/Developer to help meet our creative and coding needs in mobile/Facebook app development and web design. Working at BlipSnips offers flexible work schedules, telecommuting opportunities and the chance to work with a dedicated, agile team in web development, mobile application development, and more.  As a member of a small startup team, you’ll have the opportunity to strongly influence our user experience and software design. You’ll also have the chance to work hands-on with our iOS, Android, and Rails codebases, among others.
The ideal candidate will take part in product development from start to finish, helping to develop requirements, design UI/UX, and implement their design with other developers. You should be confident in your design skills, and be able to contribute to their implementation. Deeper engineering experience, especially with Rails/similar MVC frameworks or mobile application development is a big plus.
This position is contract-to-hire, so it’ll begin with a project or fixed-term contract, leading to a full-time position.
Other skills:
  • JavaScript, with an emphasis on jQuery
  • Web Design and Photoshop/Illustrator skills
  • Facebook FBML and/or building canvas apps a plus.
Desirable Design Skills:
  • HCI/UI/UX best practices
  • Rapid development / prototyping of front-end XHTML / CSS / JS
  • Debugging cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Design Usability and Semantic HTML
