You might have seen the sexy, relevant ads over on Sparrow Mail, or even clicked on one at Design You Trust… If so, you’ve have already met us. We’re Carbon Ads. We are a niche, Advertiser & Publisher Network riding the bleeding edge of an advertising revolution to make ads count, work and actually be of service to people.  
What does that mean to a Web Developer?  It means that you will be frontline on a media revolution, interacting with many of the top web brands you use and care about.  It means you will have your fingerprints all over the web in the form of sexy ad spots on kick ass sites.

We’re small, smart, and very friendly to puppies. We like to wear jeans and hoodies to the office. We’re a startup looking for a full time web developer who can help us build upon an already kick ass product. 
If you’re local to Rochester, New York – we have an office for you to use, but we’re hiring the best wherever they are and embrace remote working.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
  • 2+ years experience in front-end web development
  • Coding is in your blood (We’ll take your word for it)
  • You actively pursue new technologies, even on your own time
  • Strong working knowledge developing for cross platform/browser compatibility (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of mobile development and the current mobile landscape
  • Are comfortable working with a variety of code libraries and programming styles
  • Experience translating comps and wireframes into flexible and usable code templates (using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
  • Familiarity with and adherence to web standards and best practices for load time reduction and accessibility
  • Basic understanding of web server administration, DNS, SSL certificates, and other server related technologies.
  • Eager to learn or already familiar with Git
  • Work closely with Product to build the best application possible
  • Participate in early stages of project design/brainstorming (including pitches and proposal responses)
  • Work with Tech lead to identify and address project status issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve our methodology 
  • Ability to come up with your own creative ideas
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain your design decisions
  • Experience working in small teams
  • Capacity for focus, and for keeping track of time spent on work, and prioritizing that work
  • Strong logic & problem solving skills

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Visual design skills
  • An eye for layout and typography
