Location: Cambridge, MA


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • Two or more years of professional software development experience, ideally with exposure to the full software lifecycle (from requirements through production)
    • Demonstrated expertise in web application technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML)
    • Knowledge of web application stacks (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Grails, Django)
    • Experience in AJAX web application development and associated skills (REST, HTTP, web services)
    • Experience developing rich web user interfaces with JavaScript, including related libraries (JQuery, JQueryUI, D3)
    • Desire to learn and to help operationalize scientific concepts, such as human behavior modeling and causal reasoning
    • Work on-site in Boston; this position has no remote work option
    • A US citizenship is required for this position.
    Desirable, but not required:
    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • Experience with Ruby, JRuby, and Ruby on Rails
    • Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes
    • SQL database experience (Postgres and/or Windows SQL Server preferred)
    • Experience with testing methodologies and frameworks, such as unit testing, behavior-driven development (BDD), or test-driven development (TDD)
    • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Windows Server 2008 as the operating system for web application servers
    • Java and Swing desktop application experience
    Candidates should have a demonstrated capability to work both independently and effectively within a team environment, and will be expected to interact with and present to clients. Code and writing samples may be requested.
