fast-paced, Health Care Informatics company, 11 years old, and growing rapidly.
However, despite our growth we still manage to hold on to some “startup
style.”  So, if you love Perl
technology, and you’re upbeat about putting it to the test, come and have a
chat with us.  We are looking strong
senior Perl Engineer who will not only handle a few existing MVC growth
projects, but someone who will also help direct new “green fields”
efforts as well. We are not simply limited to web applications. We have a large
back end Data integration infrastructure, and an ever-growing need for Data
analytics, and Data mining. In this environment, Innovative and Upbeat

Must be able to
discuss objectively pros and cons of different languages in solving problems
and be willing to, after research and trial and error, let the technology
Required Skills:
  • Catalyst, mod_perl, DBIx (Both
    legacy and OO Perl, and possibly MOOSE).
  • Apache – Server Performance, LDAP
    auth familiarity a plus,
  • Mysql- Very Strong knowledge of
    advanced SQL query-building, optimizing, and transactional usage.
    Cognizance of Database Performance is a must.
  • Linux(RH, Ubuntu),
  • Javascript – extJS, DOJO,
  • CSS,
  • SVN,
  • Testing Frameworks,
  • Parallel Processing and Scaling
Big plus if you have:
  • VM Ware experience,
  • Hadoop/Map Reduce experience
You love and are great at:
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to research and learn on
    your own
  • Ability to handle multiple projects
  • Ability to work both independently
    and within a team… (Sometimes with less than well structured
  • Good software design/development
    practices: design patterns, software development methodologies, version
    control, test frameworks, documentation, etc.
  • Onsite in Bethesda with some
    flexibility to work from home
  • Candidates with existing credentials that allow them to work in the
    United States are preferred.
