cPanel, our designers are a breed apart.  They are a hybrid between
technical guru and artist, passionate about providing cPanel customers
with easy-to-use applications.  We’re looking for an innovative User
Interface Designer who can help us create a positive user experience.  
These are the essential duties for which you’ll be responsible
  • Responsible for interface design projects from start to finish, which will include:
  • Interacting
    with multiple individuals, including but not limited to developers,
    user interface developers, technical writers,  and project managers
  • Creating,
    refining, and reworking current interfaces within cPanel’s software
    product to provide a higher level of satisfaction to users
  • Gathering ongoing feedback from end users, colleagues, domain experts, and analytics 
Performs product maintenance and tasks related to new features for cPanel’s software productsCreates layouts, graphics, content, and code for cPanel products and systemsManages individually assigned tasks and projects while providing ongoing communicationParticipates in group discussions and efforts related to projects and tasksDevelops methods for the presentations of data, text, graphics, error messages that results in a friendly user experienceCreates wireframes, mockups, prototypes, interactive mockups, and personasResponsible for reporting product deficiencies or areas of improvement for cPanel software and productsFacilitates discussions and knowledge sharing through contributions to company databases and other forms of communication

  • Written Communication – communicate effectively in all written work
  • Time Management
    – competing priorities demand effective use of time in an unsupervised
    fashion, pursuing other activities when regular duties have reduced
  • Planning/Organizing – you’ll need to know how to prioritize and plan work activities
  • Adaptability
    – since the only constant is change, it’ll be important to adapt to
    changes in the work environment, and deal with frequent change, delays
    or unexpected events
  • Computer Knowledge – strong knowledge of electronic communication systems; able to navigate internet competently 
  • Problem Solving skills
    – able to identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze
    information skillfully; able to apply independent judgement on regular
    basis in making decision
  • Technical Skills – technical skills which include:

  • awareness of user centered design process and methods  
  • basic
    knowledge of languags used to create code for cPanel products (Perl,
    PHP, Template Toolkit, Subversion, YUI development library, JQuery,
  • advanced knowledge of languages used to create code for cPanel products (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Templating Systems)
  • working knowledge of general web hosting principles and practices (Bandwidth, FTP, Domains/Subdomains, System Administration

  • Education / Experience – High school diploma or equivalent;  
  • Four years of HTML / CSS coding experience (tableless HTML design and understanding of the DOM)
  • Three years of Graphic Design experience (Logos, Flyers, Brochures, and Icons)
  • One year of JavaScript coding experience
