In this role you will be developing production-ready
designs and code for several new and existing ASP.NET web applications. You should have
a solid graphic design background with excellent HTML, CSS and JavaScript
skills. Your designs and your code will focus on elegant usability using
current best practices.
What will you work on? One large project involves
a complete overhaul of our public website at http://www.emarketer.com/.
We also have constant development of our very sophisticated paid site (you can
read more here: http://www.emarketer.com/Products/Products.aspx)
and several in-house applications.
We are converting to an agile workflow and you
will be working with on team of six people. We work in Windows 7, Visual Studio
and TFS. This is a full-time job in New York City’s financial district. We have
a relaxed atmosphere but we all work hard.

Visual Studio/TFS
1. Explore new design ideas in
Photoshop/Fireworks, create and post mock-ups.
2. Create simple HTML/CSS mock-ups and wireframes.
3. Help plan implementation strategy.
4. Execute pixel-perfect, cross-browser,
efficient, clean code
5. Troubleshoot display and rendering issues on
different browsers and operating systems.
6. Website maintenance, including text edits, link
updates, etc.
1. Has a keen eye for detail, a well-developed
sense of typography, a strong interest in creating elegant user experiences, a
great memory for technical details, and excellent communication skills.
2. Cares about usability, so all design decisions
are made with the user in mind.
3. Can develop multiple unique stylistic
approaches to a problem.
4. Can communicate clearly about design and related
technical requirements.
5. Understands back-end technology and can work with
ASP.NET code.
6. Is happy to help with website maintenance on a
day-to-day basis and has the patience required for solving tricky (and
sometimes tedious) CSS issues.
