Floop is an early stage company headquartered in New Haven, CT.  We are working on building a platform for social opinion aggregation and analysis.  We let people share their opinions on what matters to them and show them how they fit into the world or even just their friends.
As we are about to close a seed round, we are looking to expand our team with some initial hires focused on helping us build the best user experience possible.  Local candidates preferred, but telecommute applications accepted.  Must be able to work in the US.  Good compensation, equity, and a fresh mac to get you going.
Job Description:
You will be our design-eye-for-the-hacker-person.  We are developing clients for both the web and iOS platforms, but are in need of some front-end help.  We need someone who can make designs that are both pleasing to the eye and highly functional.  In the short-term, this will probably involve wearing a few different hats, but we hope both hire-in and get outside help on the user experience.  We expect you to be spending most of your time mocking up ideas, working with client-side hackers, and finding new ways to make the front-end more engaging.  We don’t expect you to hack on code (though it’s welcome), but we do expect you to know the capabilities of the platforms well enough to design viable ideas.
Requirements:
  • Experience designing rich user interfaces
  • Experience with visualizations and/or infographics
Pluses:
  • Experience with interactive visualizations
  • Experience designing for mobile platforms
  • Front-end development experience (web or native)

To apply: Please send resume and portfolio to hr@floop.com
