We are looking for a designer who will lead design and user
experience for the uSwitch Energy/Advice & Innovation areas on our website.
You will be instrumental in helping shape and maintain our user experience
You will have a well-rounded understanding of the design process –
thinking like a strategist, producing work that inspires, be highly original,
and always on-brand. You’re confident in your ability to transform complex,
user-centred design challenges into tangible solutions across different mediums
with a strong understanding on the web.
You will work closely with the Director of Customer Experience to
define and own the design template of uSwitch Energy/Advice & Innovation. 
Key Duties: 
Develop high-level creative concepts for web and print based
projects; help to refine and further develop these concepts into complete,
functional design systems.
Working closely with business owners to manage and facilitate
design discussion with stakeholders to design great user experiences for the
uSwitch websites and related products, meeting both business goals and user
Rationalise design decisions to stakeholders and peers
Contribute to brand and design standards for projects and ongoing
enhancements to the uSwitch websites. Police the designs, style conventions and
brand representations of uSwitch.
Collaborate with other designers and the Director of Customer
Experience to conceptualize, design, build, and extend brand experiences.
Represent the
end user by carrying out user testing to deliver solutions that satisfies
customers (internal & external) and results in innovative design solutions.
Establish new visual design languages and/or work within existing
Collaborate with different disciplines across the Forward
Evangelize the benefits of User Experience and design thinking
throughout the extended Forward organisation.
Help develop and define KPI to measure the impact of design and
its contribution to improving conversion, engagement and profitability for the

A passion for
clean, functional and outstanding design; a strong understanding of grid
systems, composition, and colour; with a keen eye for typography, and
meticulous attention to detail.

Knowledge and
understanding of User Interface Design and Information Architecture
exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions of your 4+ years
design experience in web design.
BFA in
Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
competent with Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of Adobe Flash is a plus.
of web accessibility (WCAG, etc.) is a plus.
An excellent knowledge
of HTML, CSS and Javascript for websites and emails.
Management Skills:
Experience in
project management, managing the work flow of projects and keeping everyone
updated with timely and relevant information
Ability to
Plan and organise work load, liaise with senior stakeholders to set their
expectations and deliver within agreed timeframes
and negotiation skills
Ability to
delegate and manage jobs to junior designers or freelancers where appropriate.
Ability to
work independently and within teams
interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and visual)
