We listen to customers, make quick decisions, trust each other, communicate like crazy and feel lucky to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of people every day. We’re looking to grow our engineering and design team.
We Have:
  • Modern front-end toolkit: LESS, Backbone, Node, jQuery, Mustache
  • Github-integrated code review, lean product workflow
  • Tremendous number of pageviews, with a continuing need for performance optimization
  • Deploys all day long
  • Over 150,000,000 pitches and plays recorded
  • Python (with Django and Tornado) playing nicely with MongoDB and Redis
  • Award-winning iOS and Android apps with > 300,000 downloads
We need:
Talented software engineers who have an aptitude for learning and a pragmatic bent, love building revolutionary products and are in or headed to the NYC area. Our product lends itself to real-time interfaces and visualizations with instant user feedback.
You must:
  • Care about who uses your products
  • Be comfortable with UNIX (e.g. git, grep, etc)
  • Be a team player in a flat-structured, highly collaborative environment
  • Love and understand the DOM, Javascript and CSS
  • Regularly cave to your first instinct to reach for the inspector when browsing the web
  • Appreciate detail-oriented design and sketching
  • Be able to navigate an image-editor of choice
  • Understand performance and specificity implications of CSS selectors
  • Understand mobile-first and responsive design concepts
  • Have deep understanding of (or a love-hate relationship with) the box model
  • Be comfortable playing with new technologies and tools
Bonus points:
  • Sports fan
  • Experience scaling large web applications
  • Experience optimizing mobile websites
  • Not afraid of Python
  • Design nerd
  • Implemented dynamic information visualizations
