Senior Creative
Do you have experience leading a large creative team but are

Senior Creative Director to lead our creative team in the development of engaging,
powerful and effective visual communications.  
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and will thrive in our fun, youthful,
sometimes scrappy, highly analytical, and results-oriented organization.  You must be a excellent team player and have
an eagerness to do a bit of everything – no challenge is too great, no project
beneath you.  Reporting to the VP of
marketing, you will work closely with our entire marketing team to develop and
push our creative strategy forward.

Job responsibilities
Create engaging visual communications.  Continuously challenge the team and yourself
to develop engaging, powerful creative that communicates our key messages. Demonstrate
design integrity in your work, and collaborate with our seasoned brand guardian
to ensure all visual communications are true to the GrubHub brand.
Lead, mentor, and inspire the team.  You will be responsible for developing the
creative team – and will be equally interested in creating incredible work as
you will be in shaping your team’s growth.
Creative collaborator.  This is not a purely management position –
you will be doing design daily, and will be eager to design whatever comes your
Manage agencies and freelancers as needed to
complement the internal team’s capabilities and capacity.  Ensure they are educated about GrubHub brand
Manage project timelines, logistics and
personnel. You will regularly communicate clear priorities and required
results, and provide regular support and feedback to grow the team.
Work closely with User Experience Team to challenge
the creative direction of all GrubHub consumer touchpoints.
Who you are.
Have over 10 years of practical, relevant experience
in developing on- and offline advertising, promotions, web design, trade, and other
consumer and trade materials in both B2B and B2C environments.
Have a design-related bachelor‘s degree.
Have extensive experience working closely with
art directors, designers, photographers, copywriters, and agencies/external
You must have a deep understanding of the goals
of a commerce driven web site, and have a clear understanding of SEO,
conversion rates, bounce rates, etc…
Have experience building, leading, and mentoring
a team of designers. 
What are your
Fantastic designer and creative mind.
Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and
Superb visual and verbal communication skills.
Strong strategic sense, with a keen attention to
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to
remain focused and calm under tight deadlines.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of design trends. 
Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and
InDesign with solid understanding of print processes. 
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript ideal,
but not required.  (You will not be
responsible for writing code.)
Eager to experiment with new tools and
techniques to improve your work.
Must live in Chicago or be willing to move.
