Gucci E-commerce is looking for a seasoned, onsite contract front end 
web developer to build cutting edge features and functionality for 
Gucci.com, a global e-commerce destination with a presence in sixteen 
countries.  Successful candidates will have great interpersonal 
skills, expert level experience in front end technologies like CSS and 
Javascript, and overall enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, 
innovative environment.
As a creative front end developer, you’ll be part of a close knit, 
energetic team working directly with a wide variety of business staff, 
production and upper management, making a direct impact on the web site.
Responsibilities:
Develop front end features and functionality for Gucci.com (e.g. UI E-
commerce improvements, new branding initiatives)
Collaborate with the rest of the tech team on architectural concepts 
and designs.
Work closely with the business to deliver on user and business 
requirements.
Requirements:
Expert level skill (3+ years) in hand written, standards compliant, 
Javascript, CSS, and HTML.
At least one year of experience in some Javascript third party 
framework (e.g. jQuery, Prototype/Scriptaculous, Mootools)
A firm grasp of cross browser, JS, CSS and markup issues.
Rudimentary skills with Mac OS X or Unix based platforms.
A high attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to 
collaborate proactively with production, project management, and 
business teams.
Desirables:
Skill in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Formal web design experience in wireframing, prototyping or sketching.
Familiarity and experience with Ruby on Rails or similar backend 
technologies.
Familiarity with Git, SVN or other similar repository systems.
A degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.
A knowledge base of current, forward thinking web design trends (e.g. 
HTML5)
Interest, experience, and/or involvement in the fashion industry.
