Job Description
Front-end Developer at Rotary International
Rotary International seeks (2) front-end Developer to provide custom web applications, architecture and administration. Our projects include working across the enterprise to provide solutions and designs to fit different web and mobile platforms and applications.
This position is responsible for creating dynamic, user-friendly experiences for a diverse range of projects. Your expertise will help advance a global nonprofit’s website and transactional applications used by a diverse audience in nine languages and nearly 200 countries
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Work with a team (including a business stakeholders, project
manager, designers and other developers) to create compelling and cutting-edge websites and web applications
•Serve as a leader and contributor on internal projects working as
part of a team to find solutions to various problems (i.e. development platforms, documentation, etc.)
•Turn design and user interface mockups into functional websites
•Execute custom programming and web application development
•Perform testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing
sites
•Advocate for best practices, great usability and exceptional
quality in the development process
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
•Expert knowledge of web development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
Drupal, PHP, code libraries and cross-browser compatibility
•Understanding of client-side performance and how to improve it
•Ability to produce and document flexible, high-quality code
•Experience with Drupal CMS, building consumer facing websites
•Ability to contribute on multiple projects simultaneously and
adjust to shifting priorities
•General understanding of W3C standards and compliance
•Familiarity with Agile methodology helpful
•Outstanding sense of initiative and ownership
•Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
•3-5 years of full life-cycle front-end development designing and
building web-based applications with Drupal or PHPBA/BS or equivalent combination of work experience and education
