KPAO Systems: Web & Interaction Designer

Location: Palo Alto, CA

We’re building APIs and tools for an industry that has never before had good software. It’s a long-term project, and many companies already depend on the software we’re building.
We’re looking for a designer to help. We want to work with people who have a good feel for both aesthetics and information design; people who can confidently handle everything from the nuance of a small icon to figuring out the right model for a subtle user interaction. Some amount of coding will be important: HTML and CSS are necessary, and ability to implement designs in JavaScript or Ruby (but not Rails) is a big advantage.
This is a full-time position based in Palo Alto, California. As a trial, we may ask you to design something small first. (We will, of course, reimburse you for your time.)
We place a lot of value on good design. We don’t consider it the final item on a pre-launch checklist, but a part of the company’s fabric.
