Rails Developer
(or Rails Enthusiast) Wanted!
We’re looking for a developer
experienced in dynamic languages (Ruby, Python, Perl, PHP) and database-driven
web development to join our team and assist with new challenges as we grow and
expand in the great city of Portland, Oregon.
Our ideal candidate would be

Ruby backend projects. You will also be writing tests, debugging problems, and
monitoring / troubleshooting backend production level processes.  Our tech team consists of specialists in
different areas, but there is lots of interaction and opportunity to bounce
ideas off each other.  You will have a
lot of autonomy in terms of design and implementation, and we’re always willing
to embrace new techniques and technologies that present a better way (we’re
just finishing the upgrade to Rails 3.1).

We work in a cubicle-free loft space with plenty of natural
light in downtown Portland. Communication and collaboration are key parts of
what we do, and our workspace facilitates that.
Our small team consists of smart people willing to wear many hats and
get the job done, a president that isn’t a tech guy (but is very supportive of
our challenges and always ready to listen), and one very cute dog that enjoys
the occasional game of tug-of-war.
The workflow is iterative – trying new feature ideas and
making updates to existing features is an ongoing process.   We have a well-structured development cycle
with focus on tests and clean process.
Quality code is valued over speed of development, and we feel the best
code is written by people that love what they do and actually like where they
work. To that end, we offer generous salaries, medical benefits, a 401K with
company match, extremely flexible PTO, and a large amount of autonomy.
Loving where you work doesn’t stop at the office, though.  We are located in Portland, Oregon.  A city that has consistently been ranked
highly on all kinds of “Best of” lists including sustainability, green spaces,
locally crafted beer, great food, bike-friendliness, safety, healthy living,
and public transportation… just to name a few.
We believe an enjoyable work atmosphere combined with a great city makes
for an awesome quality of life.
If you are a creative thinker who gets excited about
solving problems, enjoys working with a small, highly motivated team, and like what you’ve read, we’d
love to hear from you.

this is not a remote/telecommute or contract opportunity.  It is a full
time in-office position at our Portland, OR office.
