Responsible for design of print and electronic material
geared to myriad University groups, including students and prospective
students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The department’s work is diverse, ranging
from postcards and invitations to the alumni magazine to plasma screens, e-mail
blasts, and electronic newsletters. This position joins a team of designers and
a photographer and works with copywriters and web content developers to design
appropriate messages. The position reports to the art director to ensure high
quality output, brand alignment, and excellent customer service. Candidates for
the position should be well-versed in design for print as well as the web and
other emerging media. A highly productive, collaborative, team-oriented person
will work best in this culture. 
1.    Conceptualize, pitch, and design
projects for a variety of channels (print, e-mail, website, etc).
Work within brand standards and
communicate standards and design principles to the University community.
University and client strategies for student recruitment, student affairs,
academic affairs, alumni relations, and other key business goals.
4.    Understand marketing concepts and
various tools for reaching our audiences. Provide sound marketing direction
that aligns with client/University standards and strategic goals.
5.    Present to internal clients as
necessary, so presentation and persuasive skills are important.
Ø  Bachelor’s degree in graphic design,
electronic media, fine arts, or related area.
Ø  Minimum three years’ experience in design/marketing
environment with a significant focus on color, type, imagery and/or visual
storytelling tools to deliver targeted messages, regardless of medium.
Ø  Hands-on experience with Indesign,
Illustrator, PhotoShop, Microsoft Office and common electronic and Website
development software. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and actionscript is
Ø  Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
and experience in tracking and working within approved budgets.
Ø  Excellent verbal/written communication
skills, and exceptional client-service and team-participation skills.
Ø  Must be able to multitask and meet
challenging deadline
