MeYou Health: Senior Rails Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Rails Engineer to take over our back end platform and assist with integration and build tasks. This will mean overseeing weekly builds from dev to staging to production, monitoring our cloud-based server architecture for availability and performance, and writing code to integrate with third party services that you identify and help implement into the environment. This position is based at the South End of Boston, MA, and reports to the Senior Systems Architect.

? Manage and extend our Ruby on Rails powered scalable cloud server architecture using Engine Yard and Amazon services.
? 24/7 availability to respond to production related issues.
? Develop back-end processes and APIs to integrate our products and services, third party services (like SendGrid, Urban Airship) and our partners.
? Manage a weekly build/deploy process.
? Build new dev/staging/production environments as needed.
? Develop a horizontal scaling plan for the Ruby/Rails environment in the cloud and implement using AWS services (e.g. Elastic Bean stalk) or Engine Yard configuration automation.
? Oversee central performance/monitoring/alerting for the production environments with tools like Pingdom and New Relic RPM.
Skills and Experience
? 2+ years of software engineering experience.
? Experience with Ruby on Rails.
? Experience with mySQL databases and replication.
? Experience with test-driven development is strongly desired. (Cucumber)
? Experience working in Agile environment
? Experience with Engine Yard and/or Amazon cloud computing is strongly desired.
? Experience managing version control tools such as Subversion or GIT.
? Experience developing high volume consumer websites
? Project management skills that include adaptability and time management.
? Must be a self-learner with strong creative problem solving abilities.
? Must be someone that everyone else will trust to get it done.
? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
