Senior Manager of Web Development
The Senior Manager of Web Development oversees the online development staff and is responsible for architecting, designing, programming, and maintaining an integrated and evolving experience for web visitors. The Sr. Manager of Web Development provides the overall vision and strategic technical direction for how data architecture and systems will evolve and integrate to meet organizational needs; ensures scalability, performance and security of web projects; and is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of web projects performed by third-party vendors or outside consultants. The Sr. Manager of Web Development partners with Information Services to ensure the long-term sustainability of online and database driven systems.
This position requires a bachelor of science degree in computer science or equivalent training or experience; three or more years of demonstrated experience managing an online technical team and outside developers; four or more years professional experience using C#, .NET and ASP.NET; and expert knowledge of client-side web technologies, HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX and Flash. Understanding good database design, indexing, normalization and relational database concepts is essential. This individual must have experience managing staff that supports a variety of functions ranging from software development to quality assurance and system/infrastructure administration. Ability to work within tight deadlines and on multiple tasks is essential, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills.
