Role Purpose:
Responsible for assessing, guiding, developing, and owning SAP solutions for IT utilizing techno-functional application expertise and Procurement to Pay domain experience to drive value in business solutions.
  • Evaluate product fit/gap, ascertain technical dependencies and maturity, and recommend options that may lead to projects as part of roadmap working in conjunction with business partners and IT
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by written and oral presentations with backup analysis in the Procure to Pay domain keeping an eye on external product development/adoption, and applicability to the NBCU environment
  • Lead the architecture, solution and design, guide development of integrated solutions in SAP Procurement to Pay Applications – Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), ERP (MM/AP), in a heavily, interfaced environment with dual landscapes
  • Address design issues, and facilitate resolution working closely with project and production support teams as needed
  • Enhance relationship with internal customers with a focus on anticipating needs and working to minimize pain points
  • Provide input to project manager for skill/level of effort, and duration/cost estimation towards developing a plan
  • Collaborate with other Solution Architects, Functional, Development, Portal, and Basis, Security and other teams within the CoE and other IT teams as needed to integrate applications into SAP environments
  • Maintain and gain expertise in the area of SAP products relevant to Procure to Pay process, by keeping abreast of literature, and participating in appropriate forums to develop networks as necessary
  • At times maybe asked to troubleshoot, or engage in problem solving for root cause analysis or write functional specifications, perform development during a project phase
  • Follow IT wide project management methodologies and guidelines; comply with and document change management procedures for SOX
This position is an individual contributor role that reports to the Director for Finance & Procurement functions in SAP CoE/IT and will interact with peers and colleagues in a matrixed organization; Sourcing and AP business functions; and other IT teams.
Exciting future opportunities include efforts to extend the SAP footprint to high-value strategic initiatives in the area of Procurement and Payables such as E-Sourcing, SRM 7.0 upgrade, Supplier Self-Service, International rollout of SRM, e-invoicing, and Business Intelligence.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from an accredited institution
  • Ability and desire to implement flexible, scalable, solutions with acceptable TCO that meet or approximate business requirements
  • 7+ years of SAP experience with at least 5 years of hands on technical and functional knowledge and experience in SAP SRM ver. 4.0 or later (including catalogs, BAdIs, workflow, org structure)
  • Minimum 3 years experience with SAP ERP (ver. ECC6 or earlier ) in the cross functional area of Purchasing thru Payables
  • At least three full SAP project life cycle implementations, following the ASAP or an equivalent systems methodology and follow on post-production support
  • Prior experience in ABAP skill set is required; Java is a plus
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills interacting with all levels of leadership in IT and business
  • Minimum 3 years experience presenting to senior level managers, exhibiting successful presentation skills in order to articulate ideas, options & solutions to customers & IT team
  • Ability to work in virtual teams to solve business problems
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Tools (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word)

Desired Characteristics:
  • E-Sourcing/Contract Lifecycle Management implementation experience or product knowledge is strongly preferred
  • MDM, BRF, and SuS experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Portal a big plus
  • EAI experience is a plus (TIBCO, GIS)
  • Media/ Entertainment industry experience a plus
  • Self-starter in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and minimum supervision
  • Effective facilitation, listening, and influencing skills
  • Experienced and comfortable working with culturally diverse outsourced on/offshore staff in post-production environment with high service levels
