Neomind Labs is a Center City Philadelphia consulting company focused on creating valuable software for our clients using cutting-edge software development practices. We were an early adopter of Rails, and it has been our specialty since version 1.0 was released. We love software and Philadelphia. We believe that a strong developer community is an essential part of the ecosystem that will make our city a great place to live and work.
We are looking for qualified Rails developers who will be able to provide expertise and support the development of custom software applications for our clients. Neomind Lab’s clients are businesses, non-profits, and academic institutions based in and around the Philadelphia area. Ideal applicants will have a desire to learn more about Ruby on Rails, be passionate about quality software development, and be involved in an interesting personal project.
Software Developer Role
  • Develop and maintain Ruby on Rails applications for multiple clients
  • Refactor growing applications
  • Manage and develop relationships with customers to understand and educate them on project, and deliver to expectations
  • Use Test Driven Development to ensure that every release is an improvement on the last
  • Use Pair Programming and modern workflow automation techniques to eliminate silos of information

  • Philadelphia area resident or willing to relocate required
  • Experience deploying and maintaining at least one web application
  • Experience using Rails
  • Competency with Javascript and CSS
  • Comfortable using a Bash (or comparable) shell
  • Strong coding skills in Ruby or one other programming language
  • Effective English written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using version control systems such as SVN or Git
  • Familiarity with the following is a plus:
  • Rails runtime stack, Apache/Passenger, Nginx/Mongrel, memcached
  • Configuration tools such as Capistrano, Puppet or Chef
  • Automated testing tools such as RSpec or Cucumber
Junior and Senior positions available. Compensation is based on experience.
