This is not a project management role; it’s a creative role. And it’s a collaborative role. Product managers will work closely with designers, developers and scrum masters in small teams to build great digital products (websites and mobile products). The position will be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements from consumers, business owners, editors, and other members of the product development team; prioritizing features and building aggressive release plans; keeping business owners apprised about progress; writing user documentation; defining acceptance criteria and helping to test new products and train business owners; and maintaining a product backlog. In addition, product managers will regularly assess and report on competitive properties, partnership opportunities and new technologies. The position will report to the Executive Director of Product Development.
Ideal applicants will be passionate about building innovative, editorially-driven products and have a minimum of five years of experience working on a product development team for a consumer-focused digital property, preferably with experience as a product owner, information architect, or web developer.
