Location: Austin, TX

Come join an outstanding team of Ruby on Rails developers. We are looking for a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to help grow and advance our platform. Our high-traffic, high-transaction system is constantly giving us new opportunities to push the boundaries of Ruby on Rails.
The PeopleAdmin product suite is a highly con?gurable and highly scalable cloud-based, SaaS product. The suite includes four products that revolve around applicant tracking and talent management for higher education and government. These tools are used by millions of users and applicants across more than 200 institutions. This product suite is replacing our legacy Java-based product, and it is continuing to grow and develop to meet customer needs as well as expand our market presence. The applications are written in Ruby on Rails with MySQL in a Linux (cloud) environment. We also use Redis, Resque, SQS, S3, Memcache, and various other tools.
A senior Ruby on Rails developer at PeopleAdmin is involved in the full spectrum of the software development lifecycle. We are looking for candidates that will talk through rough feature requirements all the way through debugging issues in production.
Moving beyond customer-facing features, this role will be involved in refining and improving our framework and infrastructure as we work to scale and grow our platform. The ideal candidate would know how to optimize queries as well as different strategies for caching data.
Among the interesting challenges that we work to solve elegantly are a multi-tenancy database setup, multiple products, full text search and a heavy asynchronous workload. Being a senior developer at PeopleAdmin means working across technology and looking across the system at high-level with an eye to make the internal system better.
We are also looking for candidates that enjoy collaborating with other developers, talking through ideas, and working as a part of a team to build extensible and scalable software.
