The Mission
Making real estate advertising simple and effective by providing easy to use tools that help real estate professionals and publishers display useful ads to buyers and renters. Where do we begin? We started by providing a workflow for day-to-day advertising activity and automating the process through integrations with an exhaustive set of marketing channels – that’s what the first public release of Placester has achieved.
Here’s a short video:
The Story
During and following TechStars Summer 2011, we’ve realized ~1000% organic growth, quickly commanding the attention of the industry. Currently we’re focused on expanding our feature set to continue to improve how the real estate industry advertises. A developer community is being cultivated around our public API and open source tools . Placester has closed a round of financing and we’re now focusing on customer development.
The Tech
We use Ruby on Rails 3, jQuery / JavaScript, MongoDB, Redis and Memcached all through Github and hosted with AWS.
The Offer
A competitive salary, of course health insurance and a negotiable equity stake based on the value that you could create with us going forward.
The Requirements
We’re looking for engineers that work well in a collaborative environment and bring at least 2 years of experience working with Ruby on Rails (lots of experience with Ruby itself is definitely a bonus), as well as 3 years of software development experience (multiple languages is a plus). You have at least 2 years of experience with a MongoDB (or other “NoSQL”) and / or RDMS experience is cool.
An active Github (or similar) and Stack Overflow profiles are a bonus. We prefer people located in either the Boston or San Francisco areas, but telecommuting is fine.
You are able to quickly pick up new technologies. You can own a feature from start to deploy without having to be lead throughout the process. You’re able to balance the need to write high quality code, with actually getting features out the door, – “cutting corners” is something you used to do, but it’s no longer in your DNA.
