for someone who’s looking to come in and make a big impact, contribute their
ideas, and pursue an explosive growth opportunity.

initial platform, but now we are taking the app in-house. We need your help to contribute
to our technology vision, expand our app, develop great code, and become part of
the foundation for our growing engineering team.  As an early member of the team you will have
significant opportunities to contribute at the highest levels.
we’d hire someone who’s based in either the Washington DC metro area or the
Charlotte, NC, metro area, however for the right candidate we’ll consider other
remote working arrangements.  Our main office
is located right in the center of Georgetown, one of the major social centers
of DC.
Core Responsibilities

  • You’ll be part of a
    team that takes end-to-end responsibility for our web application, which
    includes technical planning, writing code, testing, and supporting the
  • You’ll work closely
    with our executive team and technology leadership to shape the strategy
    and vision of the Privia Health platform
  • You’ll be firmly
    positioned to assume a leadership position as we grow our technology team,
    and will have input into the processes implemented, technologies used, and
    future members of the team
Technology Skills
  • We’re not looking for a
    laundry list of specific buzzwords, technologies, or popular acronyms on
    your resume. Right now we’re developing in Ruby on Rails and so you’ll
    need a combination of strong skills in Ruby, Rails, RSpec, HTML/CSS,
    Javascript, MySQL, Apache, and Linux server management.
  • We appreciate someone
    who recognizes the value of, and has experience in, lean company and agile
    development approaches
  • We’d highly value your
    experience building consumer/subscription focused web applications that
    have scaled to 100,000+ users
  • You consider yourself
    more of a backend developer, but you’re comfortable on the front-end as
    well, especially logically extending existing UI patterns as functionality
  • You’re a Mac guy/gal.   No PC’s to be found around here.
  • You’re highly
    organized, high energy, and a productive person — you aim to achieve a
    lot in a day, and you generally do
  • You’re “hands-on” and
    willing to spend the greater part of each day coding
  • You’re obsessed with
    detail and have a commitment to developing exceptional web applications
    that are elegant in both design and function
  • You’re a constant
    learner, always on the lookout for new technologies and able to filter out
    what can take your application further, and what won’t
  • You’ve had experience
    wearing many hats in a smaller, growth company environment
  • You’re passionate about
    creating a world-class, highly personalized membership experience for
  • You’re comfortable
    working in an office or from home as needed
  • You understand and
    embrace the advantages and disadvantages of working in an early stage
  • You like the idea of
    joining a proven, high energy team of experienced startup entrepreneurs
  • You have a Bachelors’
    degree or higher in a relevant subject area
  • You have a permanent
    legal right to work within the United States
