We currently have an opening for a Web Designer to join our team in Niles. The Web Designer will report to the Web Marketing Team Lead, and will balance equal parts, design and development, for new web projects and initiatives. Projects include developing online creative for product launches, building dynamic web tools, and e-commerce development. The candidate should be able to assess business requirements and develop creative web solutions to meet the requirements. They should be good at wire framing, prototyping, and presenting their ideas. In the project phase, they should demonstrate good design instincts, excellent hands-on development skills, and be able to perform quality assurance tasks with accuracy. The candidate should be flexible, able to learn new technologies, and be passionate about improving their skills. In addition they should be able to provide helpful support for web contributors and less technical stakeholders with a friendly and approachable manner.
Representative Duties:
  • Design visually compelling web pages and user interface graphics
  • Responsible for on-going improvement, maintenance and troubleshooting of
  • Work closely with web team member, agency partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver large web projects.
  • Works hands on in the development of web applications and dynamic web tools (jQuery, php, HTML/CSS, Flash, Social Media APIs, third party web platforms)
  • Develop solutions within our CMS environments to fulfill business requirements
  • Manage web content hosted on third-party platforms (videos, open-source microsites, CRM tools, social media platforms)
  • Understanding of SEO implications of design (Google and search engine methodologies)
  • Ensure the online brand continuity of Shure is maintained
  • Ability and willingness to fulfill duties outside normal office hours occasionally required.

  • Undergraduate bachelor degree
  • 2-3 years experience in at least three of the following areas:
  • html/css design for dynamic websites
  • web page development and information architecture within CMS
  • development of tools with JavaScript or web programming/database
  • building websites with Opensource tools or platforms
  • website marketing (SEO, advertising design, web marketing asset design)
  • website management
  • e-commerce platform management
  • social media development
  • active blogging
  • Ability to design and develop website assets with elegance and business readiness for internal and external customers
