Oak is looking for a talented web designer/hacker to join our studio full-time in DUMBO.
At Oak, we develop web apps (like siteleaf.com and dropmark.in), publish weblogs (idsgn.org), and build fun stuff for clients like UNICEF, Apple, 37signals, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
If
you love to design websites and user interfaces, and are driven to
experiment, learn, hack, and make crazy things, we should talk.
You’ll
join our small team in Brooklyn, where you’ll play an important role in
everything we do (in short, your work will be extremely valued).
Our studio has breathtaking views of Brooklyn Bridge park where you’ll get to hang out with some of the best creatives in the city and unwind with some Rock Band and Beer Friday action.
You’ll also enjoy health benefits, unmetered vacation days, and your very own oak iPhone.
You should have:
  • A strong portfolio with emphasis on web/interface design
  • Understanding of user experience (UX)
  • Passion for design and typography
  • Front-end web development skills (HTML/CSS)
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to come up with creative solutions to complex problems
  • Acceptable Rock Band® skills
…and if you have experience with any of the following you’ll probably blow our minds:
  • Understanding of programming languages (Javascript, PHP, Rails, etc)
  • Versioning systems (Git, etc.)
  • Content management systems
  • iPhone applications
  • HTML5/CSS3/Webfonts
  • A high score in The Font Game

To apply: If this sounds like you, let’s talk: jobs.37s@oakmade.com

Note: we are looking for someone to work from our studio in Brooklyn, New York—absolutely no outsourcing, agencies, or overseas applicants please.
