Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
 
  • Participate in and often lead the digital side of new business proposals; develop and/or vet strategy, project scope, budget and work plans.
 
  • On large projects, serve as deputy to the V.P./lead strategist through all stages of analysis and planning; on other projects, take the lead, managing all aspects of planning and hand-off to execution.
 
  • Serve as the custodian of the approved project strategy; work to adjust an approach or its expression as appropriate across the project span.
 
  • Support an efficient transition to execution and beyond; brief the project team.
 
  • Proactively look forward to new value-added opportunities.
 
  • Develop effective, scalable information architecture and navigation schemes or work with and an IA to do the same.
 
  • Draft client deliverables—including the full project plan.
 
  • Research and analyze client’s market environment.
 
  • Collaborate with staff in other practice areas (integrated marketing, creative services, public affairs, media, marketing, etc.) to develop appropriate digital tactics for client engagements.
 
  • Help build the agency’s expertise in social media. Help to build and create effective social media solutions for clients.
 
Capabilities/Skills
 
  • Be a strong strategic thinker. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, aggregate and synthesize data, and develop recommendations.
 
  • Have a strong aptitude and an appetite for developing expertise in digital marketing in general and within the nonprofit/institutional sector/market specifically.
 
  • Have excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
 
  • Be adept at handling several projects and project teams simultaneously.
 
  • Love learning—not only about new technologies but also the work, goals, and impact of our nonprofit clientele.
 
  • Have experience with social media initiatives, including ongoing and/or short-term campaigns and initiatives that have generated a following of 10K or more.
 
  • Have experience in digital planning and execution, especially involving high-content sites, CMSs, and mobile pages and apps.
 
Experience
 
  • Minimum 4–6 years work experience
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Digital project management and/or marketing experience (for-profit or nonprofit)
  • College degree
  • Agency experience a plus

Overview:
 
The interactive designer will be responsible for developing concepts for full websites, targeted web initiatives, banner ads, and HTML emails. ·         Consults with and takes direction from the creative director/design director

·         Explores and shares new knowledge about trends, tools, and techniques in digital marketing

Skills and Qualifications
·      Has a portfolio that demonstrates creative spark, strong layout skills, and understanding of usability
·      Has at least 3-4 years of experience as an interactive designer; agency experience a plus
·      Feels at home working with a team on large websites (1000+ pages), specialty microsites, and banner ad campaigns
·      Understands CMS-driven sites and how to balance design aesthetics with technological restraints.
·      Adept at developing design concepts in Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator (Nondestructive design practices are required for file production)
·      Familiarity with project management collaboration tools
·      Front-end development experience is not required but is a huge plus.
·      Has a solid understanding of developing banner ads in Flash (with basic Action Scripting skills)
