What’s Interviewstreet?
Our goal is to build an engaging platform where as many programmers in the world hang out to solve interesting CS real-world problems across different domains and have fun. We’re just getting started with some really good algorithmic challenges.
We’re hiring a Product Hacker to focus on two important metrics –  Engagement (average time spent and interaction) and Retention (churn factor)We listen to our users a lot and been doing a bunch of experiments on our site – categorizing problems into different levels, loginless view to solve problems, introducing AI games (summergames.interviewstreet.com) which has made a ton of users happy. There are thousands of programmers every day solving challenges and having fun.
Imagine if you grew this number by 10x or say, 100x? We’ve a very big aim – building a  Facebook for programmers, building a platform to bring together all hackers to our site. It’s probably like saying all the gold mines of the world is at one place.
If you’re looking to join a young and an exciting team backed by YC (ycombinator) at Mountainview, hop in.
What’re we looking for?
  • You have coded *extensively* in the past (or continue to) and have built stuff on the web
  • You understand the way programmers think and know what they enjoy and able to translate ideas into how it should reflect on the website
  • Explicit mention of some of the earlier products you’ve worked on – what changes you made and how they affected the business value
  • You are very numbers obsessed and the first thing you wake up to is an analytics dashboard.
  • You are able to code up little things/changes you want on the site and not disturb the developers for quick changes.

About Interviewstreet:
At Interviewstreet we’re working hard to fix the problem of hiring programmers – yes, the problem that’s been present for eternity. We host programming challenges and real-world problems (coming soon), rank programmers based on their skill-set and match them with relevant companies.
We’ve got thousands of programmers participating everyday and has been steadily growing since launch. Needless to say, big companies like Facebook (we power their careers page), Amazon and funded startups like Dropbox, Disqus use our product to screen and hire programmers.
UI Engineer:
When you’ve tons of users and a product that’s built by 4 hackers, naturally you’ve usability issues. We’re looking for a person who understands design (UX flows) and is able to transform it into code. This sort of person is typically worth his/her weight in gold :), we understand that and offer competitive pay!
We’ve the data (lots in fact) and your role would be to design the product that would increase engagement amongst programmers and help companies find their best match easily. We’ve tons of ideas and would love to hear from you as well. You’d play a key role in the small team in setting up the way Interviewstreet is viewed and used by users.
You should be willing to relocate to the San Francisco area, and have front-end coding ability (CSS/HTML), in addition to reasonable aesthetic intuition and the know-how to set up a proper A/B test.
Send a portfolio link to team@interviewstreet.com. Please indicate the one project that you think represents your best work and include one suggestion (with reasoning) that we can use to make the site better. Use the subject line prefix [UX/UI Engineer].
Interviewstreet goal: To solve technical hiring by creating better ways to find and screen great programmers for companies.
Advisors:
We’re backed by Y-combinator (Summer ’11) and have some of the most prominent angels and VC’s on the board to help us disrupt the recruitment industry.

To apply: E-mail your portfolio to team@interviewstreet.com
