The IP Collective is looking for a young and ambitious developer to join the team and help launch an exciting B2B web application in an industry ripe for a new way of doing business.
About The IP Collective:
In a nutshell, the idea is to build a web application that allows startups and SMEs to take control of the software-patent problem; instead of crossing their ?ngers and hoping not to get sued, companies can play an active role in protecting themselves by joining forces and sharing their patents through our application. We are building a community that embraces the sharing of technology rights so that companies can build on what’s already been done without fearing the consequences.
About you:
  • You?re a talented programmer who’s passionate about writing great code and building something beautiful from the ground up.
  • You’re creative.
  • You work well in small teams and like to play an active role in problem solving/strategy sessions
  • You like being part of the NYC startup scene and being part of a creative environment.
About the team:
We?re a small team working out of a high energy shared of?ce space (wework.com) in Soho. We?ve been working on the concept for a little while now and are ready to translate our work into a living, breathing web app that we can release privately.
Technical Details:
We’re open to whichever programming language you think would be best, though experience with LAMP (php/python), Mongo DB, and RoR is definitely a plus.  Also, we’ll  be working with an agile development philosophy — so experience working in an agile environment is preferred, though not necessary.
We?re looking for someone to join full time and long term, with salary of 40k+ and/or equity.
