The IP Collective is looking for a developer to join the team and help launch an exciting web application. We are a funded start-up based out of Soho in New York City. We are young entrepreneurs who are just starting out and are looking for someone who is excited to grow with us. We work hard but also like to have a great time.
About The IP Collective:
We are building a platform that allows companies to share patents online.  Companies will be able to start a patent pool around a specific technological field (i.e. Near Field Communication, 3D printing. etc.) by posting a patent in that field and agreeing to license the patent to anyone else who joins the pool. Other companies can then see the patent that was posted and join the pool by adding a patent of their own.  In this way, The IP Collective gives companies which work with similar technologies the chance to share patent rights with one another in a way that’s easy to understand and easy to implement.
From a technological perspective, the platform will function similarly to kickstarter.com
What We Need:
We are open to whichever programming language you feel would work best for our app, though experience with LAMP (perl/python), Mongo DB, and RoR experience is a major plus. We will be working with an agile development philosophy, making use of pivotal tracker. Agile experience is a plus, but the most important quality we are looking for is someone who is passionate about writing great code.
We are looking for someone who has a degree in CS and/or three years of professional work experience. We would like to see a verifiable portfolio.
What We Offer:
You’d be working with a us (a team of two) in our Soho office full time. We’re full of energy and excited about launching a great service. Initially this is a freelance position, where we will pay you a monthly salary of somewhere between $750-$1,000 until the first version of the app is done. After that, we’d be open to offering you the chance to stay on as our lead developer.  At that point we’d also discuss an annual salary and/or equity in the company.
We look forward to hearing from you! Please send your resume, portfolio and any relevant links to hello@theipcollective.com
Thanks,
Kfir
