Location: Anywhere

We’re looking to hire a detail oriented WordPress software developer with excellent communication skills (both written and oral). You will be working with a small team (three to four), interacting with customers on a daily basis, and handling a variety of different tasks (you won’t just be writing code).
Your average week will be spent hanging out in our Campfire chat room, working on new theme features, fixing some bugs, helping out in our support forums, writing or editing theme documentation, posting to our blog, and answering customer service emails. We’ll also be relying on your advanced WordPress knowledge and development skills to help curate and refine our theme code.
We really aren’t concerned with where you went to school, if you graduated, or how many jobs you’ve had before. We are concerned with your drive to improve yourself, pay attention to the details, and help the people around you. If you really want to show us you’re paying attention: Download the free trial of our new Linen theme and include one example of where we could improve our code.
We need you to have
  • Demonstrated top-notch communication skills (written and oral)
  • Seriously fanatical attention to detail
  • An “I’ll figure it out” attitude (can’t isn’t in your vocabulary)
  • The ability to identify what needs to be done and do it with little direction
  • No problem multi-tasking and working on a variety of projects
  • An obsession with writing clean and well-structured code
  • 3+ years experience building with WordPress (plugins, themes, etc.)
  • 3+ years experience with PHP and object oriented programming
  • Front end chops: HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript (no design skills required)
  • Proficiency with source control systems (we use Git)
We hope you have
  • Experience deploying and maintaining web servers
  • Contributed to open source projects
  • An awesome Github profile
  • An Apple computer
  • A blog where you talk intelligently about things that matter to you
  • Active interests outside of computers and technology

  • Laid back vacation policy (take it when you need it)
  • Work with well known designers
  • Yearly trip to WordCamp San Francisco
  • T-shirts and other goodies

To apply: Send relevant work samples, resumé, and anything else that will make you stand out to: jobs ~at~ Please include [WPDEV] in the subject line.
