Qualifications: 5-7 years design experience; 3-5 years experience in leading: design work in a client-driven, project-oriented environment, design of mobile web or mobile application user interfaces, development of online products, content presentation, or site functionality using flash technology, development of UI solutions in structural or graphic form; Experience in developing designs in environments using one or more of the following technologies: AJAX, Web Services, CSS, XSLT, DHTML, XHTML and PHP JSP, Servlets, AJAX, CSS, XSLT, DHTML, XHTML and PHP; Experience with all phases of the product development lifecycle including design, implementation, debug, verification, validation, and transfer to production; Working with small, cross-discipline teams with different points of view and work styles; Familiarity with Flex and Actionscript development; BA/BS in a graphic design or art discipline.
Duties: The New Product Designer will be part of a small concept and product development team that will be responsible for generating new product strategies and ideas, content experience ideas, and User Interface designs around online game play, live event tracking, video/media syncing, user interface functionality, registration and personalization functionality, and innovative event/athlete media (audio, video, image, stats) presentation and distribution. The New Product Designer will design concepts and products that demonstrate new user interface concepts, data display concepts, user generated media and data integration functionality, and other advanced interactive features for Turner’s sports league sites to be displayed with web technologies (Flash, CSS, HTML, JS and others) and mobile technologies (Flash, HTML, Java, JS, MMS). This will include creating wireframes, user flow diagrams, and interface mockups. Additionally, this will include the creation of materials for use in PR and Marketing initiatives around products, and sponsorship opportunities within products. This role will initiate competitive product and emerging technology analysis, and actively develop working prototypes that are capable of being integrated into production environments. As part of the Sports Products and Services team, this role will take direction from a cross-section of inputs, including business and product management.
