Location: New York City

Vector Media Group is looking for a full-time web developer in the New York City area to join our team immediately. We’re a growing interactive agency with great clients (like Conde Nast, the NY Times, Zagat, and and an incredible roadmap.
Our office is in the Union Square area of Manhattan. You’d be working in our office 5 days a week but we’re flexible with times: some of us get in at 8 and leave at 4, and some get in at 10:30 and leave at 6:30. The important thing is just getting your work done and having some fun. We also try to all eat lunch together multiple times per week (and we pay for it!).
Our development projects are built on PHP (the LAMP stack) and are often ExpressionEngine-based. You don’t need to know ExpressionEngine to join our team, though– just be willing to let us teach you. Experience with other CMSes in general is also a plus. You’ll work on the perfect development system: a huge monitor and a new computer of your choice. And given the range of work you’ll be doing, you’ll never get bored.
You will need a solid understanding of XHTML/CSS, and we’d love someone that has a passion for learning about and understanding changing web technologies. We adapt our processes quickly to changing technologies and want you to be excited about that.
Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Implementing and improving websites built on PHP-based CMSes and frameworks.
  • Working with CSS/XHTML layouts and templates. You don’t need to be a designer.
  • Working with jQuery
  • Helping our team with both new clients and maintenance/improvements for existing clients
  • Building internal products and tools
Familiarity With Any Of These Is Helpful, But Not Required:
  • Version control. We’re completely on Git but all of us started on SVN.
  • The command line/the bash shell
  • CodeIgniter and ExpressionEngine

To apply: If you’re interested please contact as soon as possible, attention Matt Weinberg. Examples of your real-world work are more important than a perfect and formal resume. If you worked on a project with a team, please tell us what
