Washtenaw Community College is looking for a Mobile Developer I. The Mobile Developer I develops mobile applications for deployment on the iOS and Android platforms. The Mobile Developer I also utilizes PHP and SQL to maintain existing complex web worms and pages in a LAMP environment. The Mobile Developer I adheres to established department programming practices and guidelines and works in coordination with other Information Technology Services staff as well as other staff across the College.This is a temporary position. No continuing employment rights are inferred.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
– Develop mobile applications to be deployed on the iOS and Android mobile platforms.
– Maintain existing PHP and SQL scripts on complex, dynamic web pages and forms.
– Troubleshoot existing scripts and suggest enhancements.
– Document code, forms and procedures.
– Markup semantically correct XHTML pages
– Interact with key stakeholders throughout the college.
– Adheres to established department programming practices and guidelines
Related Duties:
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Web Services.   Minimum Qualifications: – Associates degree with coursework in computer science or web development; or equivalent of two (2) years of full time programming.
– Experience working in a cross-platform mobile development framework ? Titanium preferred (samples of work required).
– Expertise with JavaScript – jQuery preferred
– Experience with PHP (samples of work required).
– Experience with HTML.
– Experience with database and system design concepts.
– Expertise with SQL programming for the web.
– Excellent time management and communication skills.
– Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.   Preferred Qualifications: Additional Qualifications (preferred):
– Experience with WYSIWYG web design software.
– Experience with code source control software (such as SVN).
– Knowledge of integrating multimedia (audio, video, etc.) on the web.
– Experience with Cocoa and Objective C and/or Java.
– An existing app on the iTunes App Store or Android Marketplace
