We are looking to add an operations administrator to our growing team. Our ops team is responsible for balancing on-call responsibilities with off-time upgrades and maintenance. You will be responsible for launching new apps and builds as well as developing tools to constantly improve the performance of our deployments, and handling alerts in an efficient and effective manner. In addition, you will be expected to be comfortable in a team management position, leading and coordinating the efforts of small ops team.
If you feel like you could spot a glitch in the Matrix, have patience and a steady hand as well the ability to think quickly on your feet and diligently respond to on and off-duty alerts, we’re looking for you. Candidates should be local to the Bay Area (or willing to relocate) and also have previous experience leading an ops team. There is no spoon.
- Solid experience managing production Rails applications on medium sized clusters.
- Familiarity with linux systems applications, including: Ubuntu, Nginx, HAProxy, Syslog, Postfix.
- Familiar with deployment patterns of the following technologies: Ruby, Rails, Git, MySQL, Memcached, & redis.
- Ability to manage a small ops team with ease and confidence.
- Familiar with the Chef deployment automation tools and authorizing recipes.
