Sr. Rails Engineer
seeking a talented, creative, problem solver to join us as a Sr.
Rails Engineer.
We have already built our initial Web application,
APIs for our mobile application, and a prototype iPhone app. You’ll
collaborate closely with a very experienced Rails engineer and a
super talented iOS engineer. Our ideal candidate will be fired up to
research and develop new capabilities that include geolocation,
mobile app and API development, gamification, and crowdsourcing
. For
the right candidate we offer a feast of interesting and challenging
problems to devour.
  1. Experience
    building scalable consumer-facing applications with Rails

  2. Experienced
    with Test Driven Development
  3. Familiar
    with SQL
  4. Previous
    start-up experience
  5. Deep
    care about users and user experience
  6. BS
    in Computer Science or Engineering
  1. Prior
    experience with storing/querying geolocation data, applied machine
    learning, and recommendation engines
  2. Prior
    experience with PostgreSQL
  3. Knowledge
    of Heroku
  4. Active
    Open Source contributor
  5. Prior
    experience developing a multi-sided platform (i.e. exchange,
  6. iPhone/Android
    development experience
  7. Comfortable
    using Pivotal tracker
we are different
  1. Offices
    in San Francisco and Marin
    . You choose which office you want to work
    in (or work remotely). Spend a day in city then come out to Marin HQ
    for a change of scenery (bring your mountain bike or hiking boots)
  2. You’ll
    get a new Macbook Pro and 27in display
    when you start (or equivalent
    Windows system, if you must)
  3. Dog-friendly
    office (Marin)

  4. Have
    a ½ day each week dedicated to open-source projects of your choice
  5. Relocation
